Areas of Deep Drilling
The entire field which can be produced by drilling inner contours is dominated by deep drilling technology. Only in the area of smaller drilling depths (up to approximately 6 mm length/diameter and up to approximately 60 mm diameter) are other drilling and boring tools used.
Since these dimensions in general mechanical engineering prevail, the dominance and diversity of deep drilling is often not perceived.
Increasingly and especially in the overlapping area between short-hole drilling (conventional drilling) and deep drilling, drilling tools are used which have features similar to deep drilling tools or are operated under conditions similar to deep drilling.
