Deep Hole Drilling

Our Deep Hole Drilling Procedures

Single Fluted Deep Hole Drilling (ELB Deep Hole Drilling)

Single fluted drills with diameters of approximately 0.8 to 40 mm are used. The cooling (KSS) is fed through one or more holes inside the tool. The KSS coolant and chip mixture is discharged through a longitudinal slot on the outside of the tool shank.

BTA Deep Drilling

Common name for deep hole drills with external feed for the coolant. It is also called mono-tube or STS drilling (Single Tube System).
The coolant (KSS) is fed under pressure on the outside into an annular space between the bore wall and the bore pipe. The discharge of the chip mixture flows through the clamping jaws and the inside of the bore pipe.
